  • Dupatta is a length of Cotton ,Chiffon or Georgette material approximately 2.25mts.(standard size) in length which generally wore by females specially in India(South Asia) with the Ethnic attire.It can be wore on Salwar Kameez which is traditionally famous and commonly clothing in India.Dupatta comes in different types of  varieties and texture but usually Cotton Chiffon and Silk are mostly in demand all the time.The best thing is that in India, people of all the communities wear it and preferred it as  necessity which provides the complete look to their whole attire.Consumers  love to buy it from Shop which is only  of Dupatta because they get the whole collections of it easily and have various options to match with their dresses.It can be Plain coloured starting from Rs.100 to 150,Bandhani cotton and silk starting from Rs.150 to 695, Banarasi from Rs.250 to 1095, Phulkari from Rs.350 to 2000 and prints of cotton and silk from Rs.150 to 500

  •   As Dupatta is a female attire and every female once in a lifetime has to wear it in tradition rituals or in weddings.The Dupatta also gives a beautiful look to a Bride when she wears it with her lehenga on her wedding.Now-a-days there  is a fashion of carrying two Dupattas in a wedding by the gorgeous Bride.This wedding Dupatta is heavy in work mostly hand and machine work both are done to give it a awesome look.

    In festive season like Diwali the most likes  are printed Dupatta which can be of Silk,Chanderi,Banarasi,Phulkari and also Kantha work .Teenagers girls wear only Stole or light weight Chiffon Dupatta  on their Kurtis and  Tops.But newly Weds prefers heavy embroidered Dupatta like Phulkari and Kantha work.Mid aged women are more inclined towards digital printed Dupatta  because casually people don't  be elephantine by over carrying embroidered Dupatta.They mostly like soft and gelatinous feeling to cover themselves .People usually match the Dupatta with their bottom wear,which can be Salwar,Churidars,Leggings,Patialayas,Pants,Jeggings and Plazzos.But in some cases people go for matching from their Tops and Kurtis for giving them a contrast look if the upper and bottom of same colours.

    PHULKARI DUPATTA

      Phulkari Dupatta is speciality of Patiala,one of the city located in the state of Punjab.Hand made Phulkari Dupatta can cost up to Rs 2000-5000, but now a days due to competitive market the manufacturers are making with computerized machines to give a hand made look, which cost them descent price so that they can easily sell at low rates into the market to gain more business and with this technology the rates are reduced to Rs 300 per Dupatta,for this traditional work . Actually,Phulkari derives from the word floral,  the work is carved with the beautiful hand embroidery with vibrant colours.The Phulkari word came into existence in the eighteen century in province of Punjab and and till now it made it's place in traditional ceremonies and in weddings which is common in rural areas.

    BRIDAL WEDDING DUPATTA

    Bridal Wedding Dupatta symbolises the omen by Brides which they wear throughout the marriage till all the rituals are performed.The Dupatta signifies all Wedding customs and is necessary to wear in Wedding by the Brides.It can be heavy embroidered or a designer with descent work to give a gorgeous look to the Bride and adds as a fashion and status symbol.The Wedding Dupatta is mostly red in colour  but as the time spends people are going with colours like Maroon,Tomato Red,Green,Baby Pink,Light Peech colour which is very common these days.The bride matches the colour accordingly with their lehenga and also choose  contrast colours like Golden,which is very common these days and stitched with velvet Red or Maroon border with base common Golden which is generally net because it gives a exquisite look.
  • KANTHA WORK DUPATTA

    Kantha work Dupatta is from West Bengal ,which is hand embroidered with thick  thread work to give a appealing look.It is made with bright colours and with some touch of sequence which give a light party look to the Dupatta.The colour used for sequences are might be silver or dull gold.Embroidery design on the Dupatta can be floral,abstract or figured which looks very pretty while wearing.These are multi colured Dupatta and can be wore with dress like salwar kameez which either is printed or plain in colour.The white base Kantha dupatta looks awesome to wear with contrast dark colours on salwar kameez.The base of the dupatta material is either Georgette or Chanderi Silk and few makes on Cotton also as per the requirement.

    BANARSI SILK DUPATTA

    Banarsi silk or brocade Dupatta is from Banaras also called  Varanasi.It is that dupatta which is made from the threads of silver or golden in colour also called Zari.It is made from power loom machines.Hand loom was earlier when there was cheap periods of time somewhere back in 1950's.Many products are also famous other than Dupatta like Saree, Suits and Banarasi Sherwani also, which is very much in demand.Banarsi Dupatta is made with bright or dull gold colour threads according to the design which can be all over Shadnow design or floral design.The base used in the dupatta is mostly Pure Katan Silk which are very bright in colours due to it's purity nature.This gives beauty to Banarsi Dupatta and kind of soft feeling also.Likewise all the colours are preferred by the people but the most catchy is Red as it is very bright and mostly wore in occasionally or festive season like Durga Puja and Diwali.
